Sonia Choquette - Soul Lessons and Soul Purpose Tour 120 x 600

new interview
Empowering Your Indigo Child
Siobhan Wilcox

Wayne and Ellen live in San Diego and I had the pleasure of meeting them at their home to discuss their new book.  Rabbi Dosick is an educator, writer, spiritual guide and healer, who teaches and counsels about faith and spirit, ethical values, life transformations, and evolving human consciousness. He has authored eight including the highly acclaimed and much beloved Golden Rules: The Ten Ethical Values Parents Need To Teach Their Children.

Ellen Kaufman Dosick, MSW, LCSW, with degrees from the University of Chicago, has been a practicing psychotherapist for more than 25 years. She has served on the faculty of the University of Southern California School of Social Work, and directed social service programs and offices.

She has taught children and their parents at every level; directed school, after-school, and summer programs; and directed Children’s Community Theater.

She practices Soul Memory Discovery, a healing therapy, which she finds the most effective tool for human development and change. She is a Master Teacher who trains and certifies Soul Memory Discovery facilitators from around the country.

I have read their new book and taken their training course in both soul memory discovery and Indigo Spiritual healing and I have a deep understanding for the power of this work. They both describe the book as an introduction to both the awesome magnificence and the deep emotional pain of the Indigo Children and Adult Indigos, and a complete step-by-step guide to the three spiritual processes - including playing the YOUMEES - that bring Indigo-healing and transformation, and affirm the Indigo-soul-vision of a perfect world.  The ‘YOUMEES’ are a series of ritual games that you play in 2 separate sessions with your child to help realign them and release the pain of disconnection they feel here on earth.

Last month Kids Yoga Network featured an article about Indigo children with a brief description on what the term indigo meant.  I wrote about their warrior spirit, their active minds, sensitivity, wisdom and integrity.

According to Dr Dosick often the indigo children feel:

• uneasy “in their skins;” uncomfortable in their lives; unhappy being here on Earth.

• They often seem as if they are in deep emotional pain, and, sometimes in

high anxiety and distress.

• They often “act out,” and have trouble “fitting in” and “getting along” at

home and at school.

• Taken to extremes, their internal anguish can “play out” in serious antisocial

attitudes and behaviors, and, at worst, in children who do not know

the difference between right and wrong.

• The children feel their own pain, but do not know how to cope.

Ellen and Wayne gave me an article they had written on Indigos in it they expressed that “Parents and grandparents, teachers, coaches, doctors and therapists, desperately want to help our children, but, frankly, it has been hard knowing how.

Many who have done the early work with the Indigo Children have worked at the rational, cognitive level, and have offered worthy and valuable suggestions about nutrition, vitamins, exercise, environment, and school advocacy. Still, hundreds of thousands of our children have been labeled ADD and ADHD and ODD. And hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of our children are being given prescription drugs so that they will be easier to “manage” and “control”.

Our Spiritual Guidance teaches that our children’s pain is at the spiritual, emotional, energetic — soul — level.  Their pain comes from their bewilderment and anguish at their separation from the Divine. They are deeply wounded by the tremendous dissonance they feel between the perfection they inherently know, and the wildly imperfect world they experience here on Earth.

Our children’s pain is sourced in the World of Spirit.  And that is where it must be healed.”
